Nigeria corruption Index- Understanding President Jonathan’s limited choice

Nigeria corruption Index- Understanding President Jonathan’s limited choice There are only three ways to tackle Nigeria corruption challenge considering its challenge and depth: A) Elimination of all political office holders past and present. I mean former Presidents and present one, former governors past and present, chairman of local governments, all top army, police navy, custom, immigration officers past and present, top civil; servants past and present, loyal fathers etc. There after their assets are confiscated both assets within and without the country. This kind of in-depth fight against corruption can only be executed by a military revolution; though who ever that might want to attempt this method must be ready either to go down with his victims or face the world-wide outrage that would greet his blood putsch and it is also most unlikely that he would get the co-operation of the rest of the world to repatriate the starched away wealth outside Nigeria! However this method would have been the most suitable way to deal corruption a final blow in the country. B) A kind of corruption tribunal set up to arrest, try and jail convicted politicians and top civil servants and of course confiscate their properties! This also can only be carried out by a military revolution! It has an already familiar challenge and that there is the very high probability that sympathizers of the jailed politicians would in no time overthrow the irritating government and not only release the politicians but also restore their confiscated properties! We would have by then returned back to square one! C) The final option is to recognize that the number of people involved in corruption are so high that if you want to eliminate all of them you would do the unthinkable and even if you can convict all of them you need to multiply the number of strategic prisons by at least ten to accommodate all! So what do you do to fight corruption in this type of scenario? you let go all but try as much as possible to block major areas monumental corruption would be carried out and anyone who is caught with good evidence; tried under the law of the land and provision of rule of law applied. This is exactly the approach of President Jonathan; he has blocked the cabals in charge of fertilizer scams and all manner of farm related scams by sending fertilizer directly to the farmers and other measures, he has also dealt with some of the scammers in petroleum sector that since he came to power there is no year that we experience fuel cues during festival and off festival periods as we have had in previous regimes before him. There is virtually no sector of the economy he has not done something to snipe out or at least reduce the scams which would have been going on thereof! Is it surprising while the Nigeria cabals in PDP detested these moves with vehemence and of course the only way to get back at Jonathan is to join the opposition party and try to do a kind of power shift so that they can see what they can salvage! So if you carefully look at the opposition call for change it may actually be true call to revert back to statuesque! Since nearly 60% of the new opposition are from PDP and how one can be calling for change holding broom! You may wonder to sweep what!? You can fill in what ever you think the broom would sweep! Exit of Gen Olusegun Obasonjo out of PDP has spelt the death of PDP-Gov. Kwankwaso! Well they say out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh! You certainly can'rt give what you dont have. It is obvious that Gov. kwankwaso being blinded by the quest of the Nigerian cabals to get back to President Jonathan because of the way President Jonathan deprived the cabals of their continuous looting of the treasury and corruption could not in any way really assess the exit or sacking of Gen. Obasonjo out of PDP! The cabals believe that they can put anyone they like into power and also believe they can remove anyone they put any time they like but most importantly they are the ones that determine how much goes to Nigerians after they had helped them selves out of the nation's treasury! however President Jonathan has effectively challenged this and that is why the members of the PDP that joined the opposition did so including Gen. Olusegun Obasonjo. Speaking of General Olusegun Obasonjo, you recall that the Nigerian cabals spun him to be the president of Nigeria despite the fact that Gen Obasonjo has no political value in the South West to the extent that he failed Presidential election even in his own Ogun State! It only took probably the arranged death of Sen. Bola Ige; if Flayo's unsolicited testimony to Barr. Keyamu was anything to go by for Gen. Obasonjo to make any kind of inroad into South west politics and once he stepped down the whole thing once more crumbled to the extent that his daughter in the senate was unable to win a reelection into the senate! So despite that some people said that President Jonathan is slow to their understanding but he managed to frustrate Gen. Obasonjo out of PDP; he was hoping to be life chairman of the BOT! So in effect the exit of Gen. Obasonjo out of PDP contrary to poor assessment by Gov. Kwankwaso was the ultimate death of the Nigeria cabals in manipulating things instead of death of PDP! in fact what president Jonathan has done implies that from now on Nigerians have been liberated from the shackles of the cabals and both PDP and APC and of course all other parties from now should understand that the only way any one party can remain in power is to perform outstandingly. In effect the so called change the APC is calling for is actually a return to the shackles and wills of the Nigeria cabals headed by key members of the opposition! Igwegbe Lawrence
